A new floral shop has opened in Toronto, and it’s designed to look like a Disney theme park.
CBC Toronto is reporting the shop will be called Flower Shop Toronto and will open at a park in the city.
The store will sell everything from roses to tulips to the Disney park theme, but it’s also going to sell other plants and plants that don’t usually make the cut for Disney theme parks.
It’s a bit of a departure from what’s been out there, said owner Emily Siegel.
It’s really meant to reflect the fact that you’re in a park, she said.
Siegel said she decided to open the flower shop because she wants to be a part of something bigger.
“It was really important to me that this shop be a celebration of our city, and we’re a part-time city, so it was really exciting to open this flower shop,” she said, noting that she is planning to use some of the money raised to help with the opening costs.
“There will be some very special gifts to share with people, so you will be able to pick some of those flowers up at the shop and you’ll be able get them for free,” she added.
Siegle said the shop is going to have a large selection of flowers and plants, with prices starting at $50 per piece.
The flower shop is also expected to be open for at least a couple of months, though Siegel said that won’t be for long.
“We’re going to do everything in our power to get that open by April,” she told CBC Toronto.
The shop will also have an exhibit hall, and some gardeners will be allowed to plant at the store for free.
It will open on May 6 and will run for at most 30 days.
Seller Emily S. said the company has been thinking about opening a flower shop in Toronto for about a year, and that she’s been wanting to open one for a while now.
“The idea of being able to open a flower store in Toronto was something that I really wanted to do and the fact is that we can now,” she explained.
S. said she started her own business about a decade ago and the idea of opening a shop was something she had to think about for a long time.
“I’ve been working on it for a really long time,” she laughed.
