QVC will close 13 stores in the US and Canada in the coming weeks as it strives to compete against Amazon.
The company’s parent company, United Parcel Service, announced the move on Thursday.
The announcement came after a report from Bloomberg Businessweek that said the company was considering closing a total of 12 stores in 2016, citing anonymous sources.
The company did not respond to a request for comment.
On Thursday, QVC said that the announcement would result in the closure of five locations, including its Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta locations.
The companies did not disclose a total number of stores that will close.
QVC did not comment on the reports.
