The Capital One shopping centre in Melbourne’s CBD has become a favourite haunt of people on the move.
It is also a source of controversy.
One person is fighting to have it removed from the city.ABC Radio Melbourne’s Alex Lawler spoke to a woman who has a history with the centre.
She said she has been using the shop for more than 20 years and has had trouble finding an empty seat on a weekend.
“It’s the kind of place where you might buy something to go with a meal and it’s really nice, and there’s always something to do and a good vibe,” she said.
Ms Lawler also found that there was an issue with the safety of the store.
“They don’t even have a proper CCTV,” she told ABC Radio Melbourne.
“It’s just this weird, strange atmosphere that you can just sit and be like, ‘oh my God, I just want to leave.'”
She said she would leave when she could find a seat.
“The way it’s arranged in the centre is really odd,” she added.
Ms Lawsler said she had heard complaints about the security cameras, but would not be making any further comment until her complaint was reviewed.
